Leo’s Last Ride

Introduced in 1962, the Fender Jaguar was the final professional electric guitar designed under Leo Fender before the company was sold to CBS in 1965.

Featuring the offset, countered body of the Jazzmaster, the Jaguar introduced a shorter scale, new pickups, and a string mute. Embraced by Southern California surf musicians, and later on, alternative rockers, the Jaguar has always stood on the fringes of familiar and unique.

This example from 1966 boasts the classic 3-tone sunburst of the early ‘60’s along with CBS era features such as a bound fretboard with pearl block inlays.
